Restructuring of economic sector according to the sustainable development approach: orientation and solutions to 2020 and next years

Abstract

In 2016, the 14th National Assembly issued a Resolution on the Economic Restructuring Plan for the period 2016- 2020 (Resolution 24/2016/QH14) in order to implement the goals of sustainable economic development, including restructuring the economic sector. Based on the introduction of theoretical bases (the theory of economic restructuring according to the viewpoint of sustainable development) and the practice (the objective of economic restructuring and current situation of Vietnam’s economic structure), the paper proposes the orientation of restructuring Vietnam’s economic sector in association with the implementation of sustainable development goals and also proposes the necessary conditions to implement the restructuring of economic sector in the near future by 2020 and for the following years
