Copyright law on hyperlink

Abstract

The world wide web is a huge system of separate and independent documents. These documents connect to each other through hyperlinks. Without the consent of the copyright owner, hyperlinks help to direct users to the site that contains the work. The paper concludes the legality of hyperlinks by concerning the relationship of hyperlink with the exclusive rights of the copyright owner. By the analysis method, the paper concludes that hyperlinks may infringe the right to communicate to the public and the right to distribute to the public.
