Classification of the Lycophytes and ferns of Vietnam following the classification scheme of PPG I

Abstract

According to the PPG (Pteridophyte Phylogeny Group) I, totally there are 2 classes, 3 subclasses, 14 orders, 37 families, and 136 genera of the lycophytes and ferns in Vietnam, of which the six following families were newly recorded: Cystopteridaceae, Rhachidosaraceae, Diplaziopsidaceae, Didymochlaenaceae, Hypodematiaceae, and Nephrolepidaceae. Furthermore, the delimitation and location of some families and genera of the lycophytes and ferns in Vietnam according to the classification scheme of PPG I were rather different from the previous studies.
