Research into applying sunk-jointed rails for expressways in Vietnam

Abstract

Bridge steel rails with sunk joint at the base of the railing column (sunk-jointed rails), which have been applied for expressway projects in many countries around the world, especially in France, have proved their advantages on the economical and technical sides, as well as the aesthetics thank to their slender structure. This article presents an overview of the sunk-jointed rails technology and the ability to apply it for expressways in Vietnam.
