Bowstringing after percutaneous trigger finger release surgery: A case report

Abstract

Objective: To evaluate percutaneous finger release surgery. Subjects and methods: Reconstructive surgery and suturing of the metatarsal capsule, suture of the ulnar collateral ligament of the hand interphalangeal joint in a 20-year-old female patient with arcuate complications, tendon adhesions and interphalangeal sub-dislocation right hand after surgery to release the thumb of the right hand through the skin. Results: One year after secondary pulley reconstruction, the patient relieves pain, returns to normal life, writes and draws well. MHQ scale (Michigan Hand Outcomes Questionnaire) scale: 80-95. In conclusion, there are many advantages to percutaneous trigger finger release
surgery, which is growing in popularity, but it should be done by experienced surgeons, and thumbs are not recommended because serious complications that impair hand function are possible.
