Abstract

In recent years, underground coal mines in Quang Ninh have been exploited through using the shield support 2ANSH technology and the flexible shield support ZRY for mining steep coal seams with medium thickness. The accomplishment of applying these mining systems and technologies needs to be based on the specific geological conditions of each coal seam. Based on the study into the coal mining experience of countries around the world and the real experience in Vietnam, this paper presents an analysis of the influential factors and constructs the classification table of the appropriate application conditions of various coal mining methods for steep and medium thickness coal seams. The comparison results of technical and economical indicators of these methods allow to select the appropriate mining technology as well as offering the prospects for diversified applications of mining technologies in Quang Ninh coalfield.
