Abstract

Primulina sinovietnamica W.H. Wu & Q. Zhang (Gesneriaceae), a previously known species from Guangxi province, southern China, is newly reported for the flora of Vietnam. Detailed morphological descriptions together with colour illustrations, information on phenology, ecology, distribution, and taxonomic notes are also provided. In comparison to the populations found in China, specimens of this species obtained from populations recorded in Vietnam have little morphological variation, because the site and climatic conditions are relatively homogeneous in the distribution areas. Furthermore, compared with the type specimens in China, the specimens newly collected in Vietnam have less number of cymes and a number of flowers per each cyme, longer bracts, and longer corolla.
