Fabrication of Curcumin-loaded Chitosan nanocapsules using the Coaxial electrospraying method
Keywords:

Chitosan nanocapsules loaded with cucurmin were fabricated using coaxial electrospraying - an electrohydrodynamic process that generates multilayer nanoparticles by utilizing coaxial electrified jets. The surface tensions of polymer solutions in various chitosan concentrations were measured to predict the formation of the core-shell structure of the observed nanoparticles. The effects of chitosan concentrations and process parameters such as the applied voltage and flow rate on the nanoparticle generation and the morphology of final nanoparticles were examined using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The coreshell structure of produced nanocapsules was analyzed using transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Fabricated chitosan nanocapsules had a smooth surface with the diameter ranging from 15 nm to 235 nm. Results suggested that the coaxial electrospraying is a simple and efficient technique for nanocapsules production
