Abstract

Ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber (EPDM) was blended with 50% epoxidized natural rubber (ENR50) in the presence of phenolic resin at various blend ratios. The thermal analysis (DSC, TGA), rheological characteristics, mechanical properties, and swelling behavior of the EPDM/ ENR50 blends were determined. The results showed that the EPDM/ENR50 blends gave good mechanical properties at the ratio of 60/40. Increasing the amount of ENR50 made the swelling degree of the blends in methyl ethyl ketone increased and the compression set decreased. The degree of swelling in Fuel A and Fuel B increased by increasing the amount of EPDM.
