Chagas is a dangerous disease in human, caused by the protozoa parasitic euglenoids Trypanosoma cruzi Chagas, 1909. The major vector of Chagas are kissing bugs of three genera Triatoma, Rhodnius, and Panstrongylus (Hemiptera: Reduviidae). The disease can be transmitted to human when the bugs deposit their faces on the host’s skin surface, then have bites and transmit T. cruzi; or via blood transfusion; mother to infants; and transplants of internal organs. In this paper, we presented the epidemiology of Chagas and introduced the distribution and classification of the bug Triatoma rubrofasciata (De Geer, 1773), one of most popular vectors of Chagas in the world and in Vietnam.
