Overall philosophy of human life in the art of “don ca tai tu”

Abstract

As a distinctive art form of the Southern region, the influence of “don ca tai tu” has transcended regional boundaries and attracted both within the territory of Vietnam and internationally. The melodies and lyrics of “don ca tai tu”, despite having gone through over a century of formation and development, still possess enduring vitality and not only elevate “don ca tai tu” to the status of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity but also serve as a means to convey timeless philosophies of life from the local inhabitants to different cultural regions. Researching the philosophical aspects of human life within “don ca tai tu” is a necessary endeavour to deeply understand the essence that the people of the Southern region have embedded, contributing to the success of this art form. Through direct and indirect research, this article aims to shed light on the overall philosophy of human life in this art form.
