Research into the manufacturing process of soft capsules containing Ginkgo biloba and Polyscias fructicosa extracts

Abstract

The objective of this study was to assess the impact of some pharmaceutical excipients and the parameters in producing Cebraton soft capsules (1 cap. contains 100 mg Ginkgo biloba extract and 300 mg Polyscias fructicosa extract). The experimental results showed that the Cebraton suspension and gel was formulated: Palm oil/Bee wax/Soybean oil ratio was 20:4:76; Lecithin/ lipophilia excipients was 5% in Cebraton suspension; Glycerin/Gelatin and Sorbitol/Gelatin were 34%; 24% in gel. Some processing parameters were determined: gel should be preserved at 40o C in 24 hours before use, and temperature of injection segment was 39-42o C. The manufacturing process for 160.000 Cebraton soft capsules was constructed; the final product conformed to the technical standard after 24 months at real condition.
