Abstract

In the context of global integration, the development of OCOP (One commune one product) products and agricultural goods has become an urgent necessity. These products not only need to meet high standards of quality, attractive designs, and distinct cultural values but also be protected under intellectual property rights to establish a sustainable brand. However, the awareness of local residents and authorities of the importance of intellectual property protection remains limited. After obtaining protection, product quality is not consistently maintained, conflicts of interest arise within the community, while violations as well as unfair competition are not addressed promptly. This underscores the pressing need for effective community trademark management to safeguard brand identity and enhance product value. This study focuses on analysing the current state of intellectual property rights registration, the management and monitoring processes for OCOP products, and agricultural goods in the midland and mountainous regions of northern Vietnam. Additionally, it examines the challenges in managing community trademarks and proposes solutions to improve management efficiency, protect brand integrity, and promote the sustainable development of OCOP products and agricultural goods.
