Abstract

This study aims to find out the relation between cyberbullying and friendship quality among high-school students. Participants included 873 high-school students from 5 high schools in urban and suburban areas of Hanoi. Research results showed that 292 students (34.3% of participants) were the victims of at least one form of cyberbullying; 211 students (24.8% of participants) were the perpetrators of at least one form of cyberbullying; and 130 students (15.3% of participants) were both victims and perpetrators. Friendship quality was related to the level of cyberbullying in students. Having more online friends with bad behaviors was associated with a higher level of cybervictimization.
