Abstract

The La-deficient sample of La0.54Ca0.40MnO3-d has been prepared by the solid state reaction method. The prepared sample is at single state, and its crystal structure is orthorhombic. The values of oxygen deficient d and ratio of Mn3+/Mn4+ have been determined. From temperature dependence of magnetization M(T) curves in the cases of field cooling (FC) and zero field cooling (ZFC) measurements, the authors have found Curie temperature (TC). The colossal magnetoresistance (CMR) has been studied in range of low magnetic field from -0.4 to 0.4 Tesla.
