Impact of large reservoirs system on flow regime in the Red river basin

Abstract

Many reservoirs have been built in Red river basin to exploit water resources for flood control and water supply for different sectors in upstream and downstream. Under the impact of large reservoirs regulation, the flow regime in the Red river has changed in both flood season and dry season. This paper presents the research and evaluation results of changes in flow regime at major hydrological stations in the Red river basin.
