Although Vietnamese yellow apricot blossom (Ochna integerrima (Lour.) Merr.) is an ornamental plant with high aesthetic and economic value, its cultivation in northern Vietnam remains challenging due to unfavourable climatic conditions and the lack of appropriate technical guidelines. This study was conducted in Nam Hoa Lu ward, Ninh Binh province, to identify suitable cultivation practices and flowering control techniques for yellow apricot blossom under local ecological conditions. The research focused on three groups of technical factors, including fertiliser application, leaf removal timing, and the application of Internet of Things (IoT) technology in production management. The results showed that the NPK 13-13-13+TE fertiliser treatment promoted vigorous plant growth and reduced the incidence of pests and diseases. Leaf removal 15 days before the Lunar New Year resulted in flowering closest to the Tet holiday. In addition, the application of IoT technology improved plant survival, shortened the recovery period after planting, and promoted better plant growth compared with conventional cultivation practices. These findings provide a useful basis for the development of suitable technical guidelines for yellow apricot production under the ecological conditions of Ninh Binh province.
