Abstract

This article clarifies the theoretical and practical foundations of bilingual television presenting skills at Vietnam Television. The study employs case study, content analysis, discourse analysis, and structured observation methods to examine several internationally oriented programmes and events, including Follow Us, Flavours and Beyond, Crosstalk Bizline, I-Report, Showtime, Speak Like a Local, Hello Vietnam, and Việt Nam đến và yêu. Based on seven skill groups-content comprehension, vocal and non-verbal expression, interviewing, interaction, situational handling, spatial and time management, and language use-the article evaluates the notable strengths and limitations of bilingual television presenting skills at Vietnam Television within the surveyed sample. On this basis, the article proposes several solutions to further develop and enhance the quality of bilingual television presenting skills at Vietnam Television.
