A glassy carbon electrode (GCE) modified with reduced graphene oxide (rGO), polydopamine (PDAs), and copper nanoparticles (GCE/rGO/PDA-Cu/CuNPs) was successfully fabricated by the electrochemical method using cyclic voltammetry (CV) for selective determination of uric acid (UA). Physicochemical characteristics of modified electrodes were evaluated by means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and CV. Electrochemical measurements by pulse differential voltammetry (DPV) of UA on the modified electrode were performed in the 0.1M phosphate buffer solution (pH 7); the results showed a relationship between the intensity of the anode current and the UA concentrations within the linear range from 11.9 to 393 mM. The modified electrode can be applied for electrochemical determination of the UA in urine samples with high sensitivity and reliability.
