Abstract

This work investigated the effect of weak ultrasonic irradiation on total organic cacbon (TOC), soluble total organic carbon (STOC), volatile solid (VS) and the efficiency of anaerobic digestion for biogas production. The ultrasonic irradiation time was set up at 0, 10, 20 and 30 min via Ultrasonic Bath S300H (37 kHz, 1500 W). The organic sludge samples were obtained from the central wastewater treatment plant of the Danang seafood service industrial zone. The module equipment was used to evaluate the effect of anaerobic digestion and biogas production in 25 days. The obtained data showed that the appropriate ultrasonic time was 30 min with the highest TOC removal efficiency and biogas generation
