Genetic diversity analysis of Tam Xuan Dai mutants via SSR markers
Keywords:
Genetic diversity, molecular markers, morphological criteria, Tam Xuan DaiAbstract
An analysis on genetic diversity via 31 SSR markers was carried out among 19 rice mutants without photoperiod sensitivity as compared to their wild types. The mutants included their different morphological and agronomical traits from Tam Xuan Dai - an aromatic and specialty rice with a good photoperiod sensitivity in Northern Vietnam. Accordingly, M12 lines were selected, then crossed among 19 selected mutants to create 24 progenies viz. Tam Xuan Dai mutant 3 (TXDDB3) x Du Hai Hau mutant 5 (DHHDB5). Similarity coefficient value of 0.86-1.00 were obtained among 19 mutants as compared to 0.191.00 among 24 hybrid progenies. The PIC values of 19 mutants and 24 hybrid progenies were 0.04 and 0.22, respectively. The average allele numbers per locus of 19 mutants and 24 hybrid progenies were 1.10 and 2.06, respectively.
