Abstract

This study developed an autism intervention program based on the collaboration between families and intervention sites and evaluated its effectiveness. Experiments were implemented on 32 children (30 to 72 months old) attending special schools in Ho Chi Minh City. The program effectiveness was evaluated by the results of PEP-3 and Vineland-II tests and a questionnaire completed by 32 parents and 37 teachers from those schools. The results showed significant differences in some areas by comparing the two groups after intervention. In particular, children in the experimental group were better than the control group at personal self-care and adaptive behavior. Socialization as well as receptive language, family, and playing time of the experimental group was better than the control group.
