Abstract

Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge, a well-known traditional herb due to its excellent medicinal values, is used in many parts of the world for pharmacological activities. This study was conducted to determine the possibility of acclimatization of Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge among 5 locations: Thanh Tri (Ha Noi), Sa Pa and Bac Ha (Lao Cai), Moc Chau and Van Ho (Son La). The results indicated that Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge could grow well in the acclimated locations. Lao Cai locations (Sa Pa, Bac Ha) had the highest recorded yield and content of active compounds. In contrast, the yield and content of active compounds of Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge in Hanoi were recorded the lowest.
