Exploitation and development of red groundnut gene resources in Bac Giang and Dien Bien

Abstract

After three years (from 2014 to 2016) of implementing a research project, the research group: evaluated and revigorated the Bac Giang and Dien Bien red groundnut varieties with the yield of 2.1-2.2 tons/ha, drought tolerance, disease resistance, medium growth duration (110-120 days), good adaptation to farming conditions of the Northern highland and mountainous areas; established 2 cultivation procedures for the Bac Giang and Dien Bien red groundnut varieties; built up 4 production demonstrations of the two red groundnut vareties in 3 provinces (Bac Giang, Hoa Binh, Dien Bien) with an increase of 1314% in the economic effectiveness.
