Abstract

The microsatellite markers RM3586, RM160 on chromosome 3 and RM3735, RM3471, RM3687, RM3536 on chromosome 4 were used to select promising rice lines from backcrossing populations. The selected lines from BC3F2 and BC4F4, 50 plants of BC4F2, and their parents were planted in 2013 and 2014 dry seasons at the Cuu Long Delta Rice Research Institute (CLRRI) field under natural heat stress and green house to evaluate heat tolerance during the reproductive stage. Four genotypes as HTL1, HTL2, HTL3, HTL4 from OM5930/N22, OM5930/Dular, AS996/N22 and AS996/Dular, respectively, via RM3586 and RM3735 were successfully selected to be in national yield trials.
