Reseach on the living situation of ethnic minority groups in urban areas and industrial zones of Vietnam: a perspective of employment and income

Abstract

There were many research works about the current life of ethnic minority groups in the urban areas and industrial zones of Vietnam, contributing to the whole picture of the ethnic minority groups in the contemporary life. Findings from the ethnic people’s perspectives on employment and income show that, they are facing difficulties in looking for the good jobs and working in quite long working duration a day and a week; however, they still show their positive working engagement to current jobs and find the stability of monthly income. These findings which have been differentiated in crossindicators by place, age group, and gender are interesting from the survey on 600 ethnic minority people in Daklak, Thai Nguyen and Binh Duong pronvinces.
