Research on manufacturing gel bait to control american cockroach (periplaneta americana l.)

Abstract

Materials using in this study include a mixed compound (starch, honey, food additives...), gelatine and active ingredient (Fipronil). The proportion of cockroach gel bait is: 99.9% gel bait substrate and 0.1% Fipronil. The effect of this gel bait has reached to 100% for controlling Americana Cockroach in the laboratory by 30 hours; and the ratio of American Cockroach decline has reached a peak at 90.5% in field conditions for four weeks. After three-month protection in the air, this gel bait keeps steadily its activation at 84.4%.
