In this study, the effects of cultivation time and number of transplantations in 30-liter bioreactor system on the growth and bioactive content of Panax vietnamensis cell mass have been evaluated. The medium composition includes: MS liquid medium supplemented with NAA 1.5 mg/l, kinetin 0.1 mg/l, saccharose 30.0 g/l, pH of 5.6-5.8 at temperature of 24-26oC, speed at 50 rpm, and culture time as variable. The results have shown that: the optimal culture time is 24 days; the cell mass is 31.24 g/l; and total saponin content is 24.97 mg/g dry weight. After the second transplantation, the cells need to be tranfered to new and bigger system to get optimal growth and bioactive content.Classification number
