Abstract

In this study, the DSC thermal curves of Paclitaxel and its mixture with Phospholipon 90G - Montanox 80 PPI were performed to understand their interactions. Differential thermal analysis of samples were carried out using DSC Q20 (TA Instrument, USA) with a temperature range from 20°C to 350°C at the heating rate of 2°C to 15oC/min. This study showed that Paclitaxel existed at least two polymorphs by total signal pics of Paclitaxel on DSC thermal curves at the heating rate of 10oC/min. The DSC thermal curves of interactions among API - excipients demonstrated that Paclitaxel existed the completely soluble form in the mixture with Phospholipon 90G - Montanox 80 PPI at the ratio of API - excipients (1:10, w/w). After two-week storage at room temperature, these interactions of API - excipients were still stable. The DSC curves of API - excipients showed that Paclitaxel interacted strongly with the mixture of Phospholipon 90G - Montanox 80 PPI.
