Abstract

Developing industrial cluster is an important tool widely used in countries around the world to enhance industrial competitiveness and deep integration into the regional production network and global value chain. Industrial cluster development plays an important role in enhancing the competitiveness of developed countries (United States, Germany, Japan, Italy), the new industrialised economies such as South Korea, Taiwan and the emerging economies such as China, Russia or Brazil. Many countries around the world are attempting to implement the development policies based on industrial clusters. The paper presents the approach of industrial clusters, experiences of cluster development in countries, and suggests policy implications for the development of industrial clusters in Vietnam.
