In this study, a portable automated triple- channel capillary electrophoresis (CE) instrument using three separated background electrolytes suitable to each different target analysis parameter has been developed successfully. Detection limit of the method with this triple-channel CE instrument for ions: NH4 +, K+, Na+, Ca2+, Mg2+, Cl- , SO4 2, NO3 - , NO2 - , PO4 3- has been observed at the range of 2.5-10μM. The system has been applied to simultaneously determine the concentration of cations and anions in some groundwater samples. The obtained results have shown high correlation coefficients compared to the standard reference methods such as ion chromatography, atomic as well as molecular absorption spectroscopy. The deviation received from the comparison of the results based on using triple-channel CE-C4D and those based on reference methods has been almost lower than 10%; the obtained coefficients of the correlation curves of the measured data between CE and the corresponding methods have been quite sufficient (r2 ≥ 0.9).
