Abstract

Introducing newly screened rice cultivars of high-yields and good quality to the local varietals structure has been considered as one of the important missions of rice production today. In this study, the inbred rice variety HD11 was evaluated and tested in different localities in the North of Vietnam. Results from 7 testing places indicated that the rice variety HD11 gave high yields (6.8-7.4 tons/ha in Spring season and 6.0-6.9 tons/ha in the Summer), properly cultivated in the early autumn season with recommended fertilizer amount of 1 ton of organic biological fertilizer + 110 kg N + 100 kg P2O5 + 90 kg K2O per hectare and planting density of 40 hills/m2. In addition, the suitable utilization of insecticides and fungicides for controlling major pests and diseases in the fields was also remarkably focused.
