Abstract

The innovative glued laminated timber beam is one of the structural solutions using green materials. In this paper, we present the latest experimental results on twolayer and three-layer glued laminated timber beams made of beech wood. The experiments were realized at the LERMAB Institute, France. Experimental analysis of the mechanical behavior of beams was also presented. A study of the finite element model was performed in parallel and succeeded in describing the mechanical behavior of the glued laminated timber beams. The numerical model could can predict precisely the bending resistance and the failure mode of beams.
