Microscopic examination and chemical composition analysis of one-leaf orchid Nervilia aragoana Gaudich - Orchidaceae family harvested at KonTum

Abstract

One-leaf orchid in Kon Tum province is named Nervilia aragoana Gaudich. This plant was examined for microscopy of leaves, petioles and rhizomes to determine the structure of epidermal cell layers and the characteristics of xylem phloem. We also conducted characterization of leaf and rhizome powder, microscopic examination of the powder to determine the structure of the tissue fragment, the shape and size of starch granules and calcium oxalate crystals. Chemical composition analysis of the leaf and rhizome by the improved Ciuley method to identify and characterize the chemical constituents present in the various extracting fractions, thereby orienting the extraction and isolation processes with biological activity compounds.
