Abstract

The development of services towards a green economy in Tra Vinh province (prior to the merger) is reflected from empirical research conducted on 137 enterprises in the service sector and evaluation opinions of 102 officials in state management agencies. The results show that: (1) Business activities have not progressed towards green development, as the processes from the use of input materials to output treatment have not been implemented in a substantial way with an environmentally friendly goal; (2) Monitoring, supervision and inspection work have not yet been effectively leveraged, which may lead to low efficiency in implementing environmentally friendly practices; (3) Tax or fee policies, along with support for capital access in green development for service enterprises have not been well implemented, and still have many limitations although these are effective tools to promote green growth. Thereby, several recommendations are proposed to promote the development of services towards a green economy in Tra Vinh province in the future.
