Luu Quang Vu’ short stories: a transition from poetry to drama

Abstract

Luu Quang Vu is known as a modern poet and playwright with many important contributions to the life of Vietnamese literature and art. It has been more than 30 years since Luu Quang Vu left us but his name had been presenting in our cultural and literary life. Along with poetry and drama, Luu Quang Vu's writing career also included short stories. It was supposed that the poetry always accompanied him in his whole life, and was the category that took away his confession and vented all his confidences, drama was the one that crystallised his talent and his experiences as well. Besides, Luu Quang Vu's short stories showed his transition from poetry to drama in the period of transitional literature to contribute to shaping his artistic style.
